Hi, how are you all doing? WOW hasn’t the weather been fabulous? I am loving it because it not so hot yet that I can’t sleep. Anyway, today I wanted to share with you a card that I have made using the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and the You’re a Peach designer series paper. The layout of the card was a sketch designed by Mary Fish, a top demonstrator in the USA. I don’t often use sketches as inspiration for my cards, but today I saw Mary’s and I really liked it so I thought I would have a go!! The inspiration also came from Heather Thomas, The Songbird Stamper. Check out her blog, her projects are fabulous.

Card using Sweet as a Peach suite

The new Sweet as a Peach Suite is really beautiful and can create really delicate looking cards. It really is worth checking it out! You can also find lots of inspiration on Pinterest using this fabulous suite.

Here are the products used and the instructions

Base card

Cut a piece of Basic White card stock by placing the card into the cutter, with the short side along the top and cutting down at 10.5cm, then turn the card so that the long side is along the top of the cutter and then score at 14.85cm. This is your base card.

Mats & decoration

To create the mats, cut a piece of Balmy Blue card stock which will measure 10cm x 10cm, then cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 9.5cm x 9.5cm and then lastly, a piece of the DSP to measure 10cm x 8cm.

Then, take the Balmy Blue card stock and in each of the bottom corners you need to measure an inch from the corner along the bottom and then from the corner up the left side. This is then repeated on both bottom corners. Then the exact same thing needs to be done with the Basic White card stock. This has now created the “pennant” or “banner”.

The striped DSPaper is then to be adhered to the lower half of the card base leaving a small border around the bottom and sides.

To decorate

Taking the white piece of card stock, stamp the leaves in Pear Pizzazz. Then ink up the peaches with the Pale Papaya, remembering to then use a finger dauber to add a small piece of Calypso Coral directly onto the stamp (this will give the two tone look to the peaches). The stamp will then need be be lined up with the stalks on the leaves. You will notice that there are notches on the peaches stamp which match up with the stalks.

Now you will need to stamp the three large flowers on to a piece of scrap white card in Pale Papaya, remembering again, to daub with Calypso Coral. Then ink up the small centre flower using Calypso Coral and stamp into the centre of your stamped flowers. These can now be fussy cut out and then placed onto your card.

There is a set of three small stamps which will now need to be inked up using Pale Papaya and then randomly stamped onto card.

As per the instructions on the Sketch, I then stamped my sentiment using the Calypso Coral ink and stamped at the bottom of the “pennant” or “banner”.
