Hi, as promised, I am back with a tutorial making cards from the background paper that I created during last Wednesdays video. I selected the Orchid Oasis one to make my cards with as I just love this colour, but I still cannot work out whether it is blue or purple!!!
My first two cards
Measurements:
You will need two base cards, one in basic white and one in Orchid Oasis, these both measure 14.8cm x 21cm, score on the long side at 10.5cm. Fold & burnish.
Two mats. One in Orchid Oasis and one in basic silver foil card, these both measure 14.3cm x 10cm.
For the “Thinking of You” card, you will need to place your unique background paper with the long side along the top of your cutter and cut down at 13.8cm, turn and cut at 9.5cm. (This will cut the card almost in half). This will then be adhered to the silver foiled card and then those to the base card.
Using the other half of the previously cut background paper, cut this to measure 13.8 x 5cm. Put this piece to one side.
The piece of background paper left, will measure approx 13.8cm x 7cm and this will be used on the “Happy Birthday” card. Firstly, you will adhere the Orchid Oasis card that measured 13.8cm x 9.5cm, to the basic white base card. Then adhere the background paper to the bottom of the Orchid Oasis mat.
You will now need to cut a piece of basic white card stock to measure 13.8cm x 7cm. Die cut a decorative edge along the long side of this card. This can now be adhered to the top of the Orchid Oasis mat (see pic).
Making the “flower”
From the larger half of background paper, cut a 1″ strip. With the long side across the top of the cutter, score every 0.5cm – See video on how to fold and assemble.
Decorate with rhinestones, glitter or sequins or all of them!!!
